Ayesha Vardag, President of leading family law firm Vardags, was recently presented with awarded NatWest Everywoman 2015 among many hundreds of high profile entrants.
The 13th annual NatWest everywoman Awards celebrate female business success across the UK, with Ayesha receiving the accolade at an awards ceremony at the Dorchester Hotel.
Ayesha was recognised for her work changing the legal landscape for women, during the decade since she first launched Vardags.
Judges including Cath Kidston MBE, Amanda Wakeley OBE and Higgidy founder Camilla Stephens crowned the entrepreneur for not only her success in what has traditionally been a male dominated industry, growing her high net worth family law firm from a one-woman band in her spare room to a team of sixty and one of London’s leading law firms, acting regularly for household names and making legal history after winning the landmark Radmacher case in 2010, which made prenuptial agreements work in England and Wales.
Ayesha’s pioneering efforts on behalf of working women were also recognised, reflected in Vardags approach to flexible working and offer of an industry leading maternity package at the 60 strong firm.
She said: “I think women are incredibly well-equipped for leadership. All of the roles we’ve been given over time – from caring for families, to sending our men out to kill sabre-toothed tigers – has been management from start to finish!
“We need to keep helping each other and create a world that fits for us, for our families, for all our different challenges, where we can work in flexible and self-starting ways. We need to do this for our sons and daughters, and to prove that women are capable of running the world.”
The award is the latest in a string of achievements for Ayesha, known as the Diva of Divorce and ‘Britain’s Top Divorce Lawyer.’
Having worked with Vardags for the past two years, PHA have focussed heavily on raising Ayesha’s profile, and that of other senior employees at the firm, documenting court successes, company growth and providing broad, in-depth analysis of family law issues, and more widely, those of relationships in general.
