Young Enterprise is an entrepreneurship program that allows young individuals to gain real life experiences to what it is actually like to run your own business. I am a student of Mulberry School for Girls and I had the pleasure of taking part in this program, my company group was named ‘Beauty and the Bath’ which related well to the products we were selling – bath products.
At the initial point of the business it was difficult to manage as different members would disagree or weren’t putting in as much effort as others, despite this in the end we pulled ourselves together and made it work. We went through to the Tower Hamlets finals, which was a great achievement for us.
We had the chance to set up a stall at Spitalfields Market as well as the Women of the World festival at the Southbank Centre. We managed to gain a lot of sales, especially within our school.
Since completing the Young Enterprise Program, Young Enterprise offered another program called ‘e-leaders for a day’, for this program I worked at a company called PHA Media where I was shadowing Hayley Coleby a Creative Strategy manager.
I learnt so much from my experience at PHA Media and I was fascinated by how much they do to promote and raise awareness of other businesses. Hayley and her team were very welcoming, and I very much enjoyed my day shadowing her.
