Andrew Watson Racing Video

Client Objective

Having already begun seeding content across Andrews social channels, we felt it was necessary to produce some high quality, engaging and insightful video content into the life of Andrew, which documented his career and personality on and off of the race track.

This video was created as an introductory piece, which along with being seeded across YouTube, Facebook and Twitter, will also sit on the home page of Andrew’s website.

Concept

It goes without saying that videos on fast cars are hugely popular online, and this is something we drew inspiration from when conceptualizing the project.

We had previously seeded two videos for Andrew, which were created from user-generated content gathered from Andrew’s race team. This time however, we felt that by producing a professionally shot and edited video, focussing on Andrew behind the wheel and stylized with a ‘high octane and motorsport theme’ it would reach out far greater than the previous videos we created for Andrew’s channels.

Strategy

To allow our team to gather all of the required footage so that we could produce the video, we were given an ‘access all area’ license, which would allow us to spend the day navigating our way around the Silverstone circuit, pit-lane and paddock, gathering vast amounts of track-side footage, interviews and imagery.

The video was launched several days before the opening race of the already well-supported Ginetta GT Supercup series to increase SEO and boost his online presence.

Results

The video was released yesterday and has already been re-tweeted by Brands Hatch which has over 20,000 followers!
