PhD Woman

Client Objective

To raise brand awareness for PhD woman, to promote the PhD woman range of products, to educate female consumers about the benefits of protein and to increase understanding of how protein supplements can be used to help achieve individual diet and exercise goals.

Originality and Creativity

As a major part of our educational push, we hosted a media ‘protein breakfast’ event, whereby journalists, bloggers and online influencers were invited to take part in a high intensity workout session, followed by a nutritious protein breakfast made using PhD woman products, alongside advice from our PhD ambassadors about how, when and why to incorporate protein in to a healthy diet.

Strategy and Implementation

We worked alongside our PhD ambassadors to create a suitable workout routine and with a catering company to devise a breakfast menu that was healthy, high in protein and delicious. Female journalists across the national and consumer press were invited, alongside the UK’s most influential health and fitness bloggers. The breakfast event took place when there was an increasing amount of noise in the media about protein, but still a great deal of confusion about how best to incorporate it in to a healthy lifestyle.

Results and Evaluation

Over 30 journalists and bloggers attended the event, including writers from titles such as Notebook, Women’s Health, Mail Online, Health and Fitness, Fabulous and OK! magazine. Educational pieces about protein – including expert comment and recipe ideas from PhDwoman – from the attending outlets followed, and social reach for the @PhDwoman account on the day of the event was ten times higher than on an average day.
