Cutting through the online fitness noise with the A-lister’s fitness app, Centr

Chris Hemsworth’s health & fitness app, Centr, launched in February 2018, providing users with access to Chris and wife Elsa’s hand-picked team of internationally renowned experts from the world of fitness, nutrition, and mindfulness. Since its launch, the app has achieved more than 1.5m downloads worldwide.

Centr brought our team on board to support with driving growth in the UK, utilising our first-class contacts book in the UK fitness media to drive membership to the platform through the profiling of its experts, workout and mindfulness programmes and recipes across the top tier national, consumer lifestyle and health & fitness press.

In March, the UK went into full lockdown and with gyms across the nation closing, we were able to communicate the benefits of at-home workouts, successfully positioning Centr as a market leader in providing effective and easy-to-follow workouts which could be done away from the gym and with little specialist equipment.

We also supported the team as they launched a six-week free trial in order to make exercise and expert health and fitness advice more widely accessible to people during a time of unprecedented social distancing an isolation. Promoting the app’s premium offering, we were able to cut through the noise made by competing online fitness brands to position Centr as the go-to platform during lockdown.

The team delivered over 80 pieces of coverage in the first three months in top tier publications including The Sunday Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, Mail Online, Evening Standard, Men’s Health, Women’s Health, GQ, Esquire, LADbible and BBC News.
